Welcome

Thank you for your interest in Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust.

For almost 500 years, the Trust has played an important role in supporting the people and communities of Sutton Coldfield. Today, that legacy continues through a unique combination of grant-making, housing provision, community investment and stewardship of significant charitable assets. With responsibility for more than £79 million of assets, 46 almshouses and a broad programme of grants supporting local people and organisations, the Trust combines deep community roots with a level of scale and responsibility that is unusual for an organisation of its size.

As we look towards our 500th anniversary in 2028, this is an exciting moment in the Trust's history. Significant projects are underway, including community investment initiatives, housing and community centre developments, and the continued delivery of an ambitious five-year strategy. At the same time, there remains considerable opportunity for a new Chief Executive Officer to help shape the Trust's future direction, strengthen partnerships and ensure that our resources continue to deliver meaningful impact for local people.

This role offers an unusual blend of responsibilities. You will work with a committed Board of Trustees, an experienced and dedicated staff team, and a wide range of external partners including local councils, community organisations, professional advisers and civic leaders. While strategic leadership is important, this is also a hands-on role within a small organisation where the Chief Executive remains closely connected to day-to-day operations and the people who deliver the Trust's work.

We are open-minded about your background. You may already be a Chief Executive, or this may be your first CEO appointment. What matters most is your ability to lead with credibility, navigate complex stakeholder relationships, demonstrate sound financial judgement and ensure the Trust's resources are used to achieve the greatest possible benefit for Sutton Coldfield's communities.

This is a rare opportunity to lead an organisation with a remarkable history, substantial resources and a genuine ability to make a lasting difference. If you are excited by the prospect of stewarding a historic institution while helping shape its next chapter, we would be delighted to hear from you.
